TowerBall Review

Packaging / Set Up / Portability Rating: 4/5

We spent a lot of time on the TowerBall packaging. It was important to us to design something that stood out. Our head of design Michael Allen killed it! It looks like a box apple would make. It’s simple and clean and gives you all the information you need.

How everything is packaged on the inside of the box for a yard game is very important so all of the pieces don't get scraped or damaged. We added a custom foam piece on the top and bottom, shrink-wrapped the balls and game guide/postcard, and wrapped the premium backpack around the middle of the four panels for extra protection.

In addition to the color box, we also added a heavy-duty 5-ply outer shipping box. That way when we ship it to you the outer box takes the majority of the travel wear and tear, and the inner box remains untouched.

For the TowerBall setup, we made it as simple as we possibly could. Two of the panels have six male connection points, and two of the panels have six female connection points. You insert the male connection points into the female connection points and slide up, we have a how-to assemble video here:https://calibergames.com/pages/towerball-setup.

You can set it up in less than 60 seconds, and we added extra support around the connection points so it would withstand the test of time! Did I mention that it comes with a lifetime warranty? If anything happens to it just let us know and we’ll make it right.

The backpack is one of my favorite parts, my wife Kelsey had the idea to make it the same shape as the game. We used premium stitching and added a weatherproof liner to keep it from getting wet. The straps have some small cushioning so it's comfortable on your shoulders. The corners won’t wear down, and so far we haven’t had anyone complain about rips or tears!

We knew at this price point that the game needed to collapse and pack down flat. We’ve done that, and with the premium backpack, we are going to give it a 4 out of 5 for packaging, setup, and portability. I kept it from being a 5 because it takes a minute to put together, and it's on the larger side for a lot of yard games on the market.

Gameplay Rating: 5/5

We created 3 standard ways to play TowerBall Classic, Around the Tower and H-O-R-S-E. You can watch videos on how to play all 3 here: https://calibergames.com/pages/how-to-play-towerball

It’s super simple to learn, and the game itself is intuitive. Most people know when you see the balls that you are trying to throw them through the holes! For TowerBall classic you start on side one, and each player gets 4 shots per side, then you work your way around the tower with each side getting a little more difficult. We spent a lot of time beta testing to come up with the optimal size hole for each side. It looks easier than it is, and we made it hard so that it takes a long time to “master” it.  We’ve also had a lot of people invent their own ways to play.

The other main aspect of the TowerBall gameplay is that its casual gameplay! You don’t have to sweat, you can have a drink in your hand, and people of all ages and skill levels can play. I’m giving TowerBall a 5 out 5 for gameplay.

Durability Rating: 5/5

TowerBall is the most durable yard game on the market. Seriously, it comes with a lifetime warranty, and ALL of the materials are 100% weatherproof. That’s right you can leave it outside forever and it won’t warp or fade and none of the materials are impacted by the weather.

The panels are made out of high-quality PP plastic, with a hexagon pattern for extra durability. The balls have reinforced stitching on the inside so they can withstand people throwing them on the concrete. The backpack is built to last and has room for a couple of other items you want to bring with you.

I’m giving TowerBall a 5 out of 5 for durability.

Family Friendly Rating: 5/5

Honestly, this is one aspect of TowerBall that we didn’t expect when we invented it. It’s one of the most family-friendly yard games on the market. We designed and engineered the game thinking that it would mainly cater to adults, but man we were wrong, it caters to everyone! The reviews we’ve received prove that. We’ve had parents tell us it entertained their kids for hours then the parents played after bedtime. The soft-touch balls allow parents to let their kids play without having to worry about anyone getting hurt. People have been playing it inside as well, and the fact that it's so durable makes it kind of like a small play gym ;). It packs down flat, and the backpack makes it easy for anyone to carry. The lifetime warranty puts you at ease if anything happens to it.

This is the ultimate family yard game. I’m giving TowerBall a 5 out 5 for Family Friendly.
